Alpine in the Summer? Yep, it’s a Thing
Posted on 23 November, 2021

Put your snowboards away, you’re hitting the slopes in a new way this summer.

Alpine Activity Centre would like to congratulate and welcome Sandra Bailly, the new manager at Jindabyne. Responsible for all things adventure, Sandra will look after your stay at Alpine and has an exciting new offer for the summer! As we know, Alpine Activity Centre is accommodated as a base for winter sports and activities in the Mountains. Although the snow is excellent, most of you are sleeping on the opportunity to hit Jindabyne in summer. The sun comes out and so does the adventure, minus the crowds!

Alpine Activity Centre is offering a home away from home, all located within easy walking distance to town amenities such as cafes, restaurants and shops. Self-contained cottages sleep up to ten people and are ideal for small groups and families starting from only $350 per night. If you’re after a bigger stay with a large group, the Tony Balthasar Lodge can sleep up to 40 people in each dormitory.

So, what’s at the foot of your Alpine Activity Centre stay? Here’s a list of activities you can do while staying at Alpine this summer:

CLIMB HIGHER THAN YOU’VE EVER BEEN

The National Park Mountain range is the highest in Australia’s southern land. The natural highlight is Mount Kosciuszko where the Thredbo Chairlift will take you to the highest peak in the country.

CATCH A MONSTER

The waterways around Alpine Activity Centre are some of the best for trout fishing in Australia. Lake Jindabyne and Eucumbene have shallow waters to cast your line and have a relaxing day by the water.

KAYAKING AND CANOEING

The Aussie summer should be spent kayaking and canoeing around Lake Jindabyne, or you can pick up the pace and with windsurfing and wakeboarding. Luckily, you’ll be staying at Alpine Activity Centre for a close resting place after a big day of fun with friends.

CLIMBING, CAVING & ABSEILING?

Classic adventure activities are a lot more accessible when the caves are clear of snow in the summer. Beginners to pros aren’t short of adventure around Jindabyne.

GRAB YOUR BICYCLE

Hilly, rocky and rugged. Alpine Activity Centre is the perfect place to stay if you want to cruise around the Snowy Mountains on a bike with mountainesque views that your socials will love. Depending on your skills, there are trails in Thredbo which range from seven kilometres to a full-day adventure. Crush those trails and come back to Alpine’s self-contained cottages for a relaxing wind-down.
