Take a walk!

Keen bushwalkers will appreciate Kosciuszko National Park’s shady trails and walking tracks, which are best hiked between December and March. There are hundreds of walking tracks and paths open for exploration.

As you explore the area, nature lovers can spot platypus, fairy wrens, flame robins, king parrots and lyrebirds. And as the sun sets, kangaroos, possums, bats, red-necked and swamp wallabies come out to play.

Hiking Kosciuszko

The Kosciuszko National Park mountain range is the highest in Australia, boasting five of the highest mountains in the continent. Hiking and summiting Mount Kosciuszko is the natural highlight.

Our staff at the Alpine Centre can help organise a guided hike to the peak of Mount Kosciuszko, including a scenic ride on the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift in Thredbo and a bobsled ride down!
