Take a walk!
Keen bushwalkers will appreciate Kosciuszko National Park’s shady trails and walking tracks, which are best hiked between December and March. There are hundreds of walking tracks and paths open for exploration.
As you explore the area, nature lovers can spot platypus, fairy wrens, flame robins, king parrots, and lyrebirds. And as the sun sets, kangaroos, possums, bats, red-necked and swamp wallabies come out to play.
Hiking Kosciuszko
The Kosciuszko National Park mountain range is the highest in Australia, boasting five of the highest mountains on the continent. Hiking and summiting Mt Kosciuszko is the natural highlight.
Our staff at the Alpine Activity Centre can help you plan and make the most of your hike to the peak. We recommend a scenic ride on the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift in Thredbo and a bobsled ride down!
