The Tony Balthasar Lodge is purpose-built for larger groups.

Named after the adventurous Scout Tony Balthasar, who funded the Alpine Activity Centre, the lodge's two main dormitories – Townsend and Kosciuszko

With an open plan lounge/dining area, the Lodge is a great place to relax and enjoy the surrounding bushland or gather as a large group for indoor activities.

Facilities in the lodge include:

Main Lodge - 2 large dormitory-style accommodation:

  • Townsend Dorm - 19 bunk beds (sleep 38) plus a loft with 3 bunk beds (sleeps 6).
  • Kosciusko Dorm – 19 bunk beds (sleeps 38) plus a loft with 2 single beds and 1 bunk bed

4 separate rooms

  • Room 1 - 2 single beds 
  • Room 2 – 2 single beds
  • Room 3 – 2 bunk beds (sleeps 4)
  • Room 4 – 2 bunks (sleeps 4) and 1 single bed

Note:

  • BYO sheets, doona and pillow or pack your sleeping bag
  • Separate youth amenities
  • Linen packs available (2 single sheets and a doona – bring your own pillow) - $20 per stay

  • Large dining room with 100-seat capacity and views over Lake Jindabyne
  • Catering can be arranged for visitors
  • A large, modern commercial style kitchen with ovens, gas cooktops and microwaves allowing groups to self-cater during their stay
